Attend Rights to Warmth will carry out market research into householders’ attitudes and behaviour towards the cold, staying warm and taking up help. It will investigate the attitudinal barriers that prevent people from keeping their houses warm and using the support to help them do this. The research will initially be carried out in County Durham, from February to May 2008, alongside a pilot social marketing take-up campaign. The findings will inform approaches to benefit and energy efficiency promotion, to make adequate heating more affordable, and behaviour towards keeping warm and healthy.
